While You Are Recovering
Try to stay as active as you can to prevent blood clots from forming. You should take care to avoid sudden movements and raising your arms above your shoulders. After the first week or two, you should be able to return to work, assuming your job does not require strenuous physical labor.
After Two Weeks
Your doctor can remove your stitches if he or she did not use stitches that dissolve. This variety will go away on its own after about six weeks. Depending on your body’s ability to heal, you can expect to be feeling back to your usual self in about three to six weeks following your surgery.
