Breast
Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction following complete or partial
mastectomy is protected by federal law. Any procedures
performed on the opposite breast to create symmetry -
reduction, lift, or implant - are also protected by
federal law (Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of
1998). Dr. Streitmann uses both implants and living
tissue for breast reconstruction, depending on the desires
and physical condition of the patient. Immediate
reconstruction at the time of mastectomy is preferred, but
can be done at any time following tumor removal. |

Facial
Reconstruction
The most common reconstructive surgery performed
by plastic surgeons in the United States is skin cancer
removal and reconstruction. Unfortunately, the face and
neck account for 95% of all skin cancers. As Dr.
Streitmann is Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and
Head and Neck Surgery, he is uniquely qualified not only
to treat skin cancer, but to repair the defect caused by
tumor removal. |
