How Do I Know If I Need A Brow Lift?

That’s up to you. A sagging, heavy brow becomes furrowed and can make you look tired or even permanently upset. Brow lifts do just what they sound like: They reduce age-related brow sagging by either surgical or noninvasive means, such as Botox or Xeomin injections or ultrasound therapy, in order to make you look happier and more alert.

Can I Get A Brow Lift Without Surgery?

While the name “brow lift” makes it sound like surgery is a part of the package, that’s not necessarily the case.

Botox injections are a well-known non-invasive treatment for brow lifts that use controlled amounts of Botox neurotoxins to tighten and lift your brow.

Dr. Streitmann also uses Xeomin for patients who are not eligible for surgery or other traditional brow lift procedures. Xeomin is a prescription intramuscular injection that drastically reduces the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines and forehead wrinkles.

Ultrasound therapy, a.k.a Ultherapy, uses targeted ultrasound to tighten your brow and is not at all invasive. Surgery, however, is always an option and is sometimes the best choice.

Brow Lift FAQs

Is Getting A Brow Lift Painful?

Brow lifts are typically not painful at all. Most patients say that they experience little to no pain at all. However, some patients experience tightness and discomfort for the two weeks following their brow lift. Bruising and swelling may also occur, but should also pass within two weeks or so.

Are The Results Permanent?

Although the positive effects of a single brow lift procedure will last, you will continue to age after the procedure and will eventually need to touch it up after five to 10 years because your brow will start to droop again. However, even if you don’t touch up the brow lift, the treated area will droop less than it would have if you had not had the first one! Touch-ups on a brow lift are no more difficult, risky or uncomfortable than the first procedure.

What Is The Typical Recovery Time After The Procedure?

It takes about two weeks for the discomfort and possible bruising and swelling to subside and your brow to completely recover from the procedure. If you experience these symptoms for longer than two weeks, you should contact us to see whether there is a reason for concern.

Are There Any Risks Or Side Effects To Watch Out For?

Most brow lifts will have little to no noticeable side effects after the initial recovery period. Sometimes patients have suffered from a loss of sensation around the incision site after a surgical brow lift. The best way to prevent this is to turn to an experienced licensed plastic surgeon like Dr. Streitmann.
